Property in Buckinghamshire: Depositions concerning College lands

Depositions taken by Thomas Grove, of Yver, from divers persons concerning the title of the College to lands in Ivyr late of William Aylwyn:
First John Garlyke says he was tenat of the said lands and will swear that William Aylwyn gave them to [Joan] his wife during her life, with remainder to the College. And after her death, Garlyke paid his rent to the College for 24 years, and afterwards he left the said lands and then John Dary, Thomas Dary and Thomas Grove held them peaceably of the College to this day.
Item John by the Wod, of Ivyr, of 60 years of age, John Cobham, of Dytton, late of Suton, and Thomas Growe, of Sutton, will swear that William Aylwyn gave the said lands to the College and doctor Hopton took possession of the same to the use of the College; which is confirmed by Margery Inwod, daughter of the said William Aylwyn.
