Indenture of bargain and sale by John Scotte, of Dorney, esquire, to Andrew Wyndesore, esquire, son and heir of Thomas Wyndesore, late of Stanwell, co. Middlesex, esquire, of the manor of Bradenham, co. Bucks, with the advowson of the church there and all appurtenances in Saunderdon Saint Mary, West Wycombe, Huchenden, Chepyngwycombe, and Penne, co. Bucks, except a messuage called Whytes with a garden adjacent in Penne which Scotte be deed of 3 March 20 Henry VII has granted to William Duffeld and certain lands held by copy of court roll of the manor of Segraves, and except also a messuage in Penne called Haldiffes or Aldithes and other lands there called Bailifes otherwise called Holmere or Holmer lands pertaining to the said messuage now in the farm of Richard Founge otherwise called Cok which messuage and land the said Scotte by deed of 3 March Henry VII had granted to Robert Rede, and except also certain lands in Chepyng Wicombe now in the farm of John Shrempton. John Scotte covenants that before Pentecost next he will suffer John Gladwyne, Robert Hakford, clerks, Andrew Bereman, Robert Rede, John Shepard, William Duffeld, John Norres and Robert Stapur to recover the said manor with all other the premises by writ of entre sur disseisin en le post against the said Scotte and his heirs to the use of the said Andrew Wyndesore, for the which recovery and for the premises the said Andrew grants that he will pay the said Scotte for his life £20 a year. In default of payment Scotte may enter and distrain upon the property of Wyndesore in Stanwell and in Horton, co. Bucks, and in Marssh Baldyngton, co. Oxford, and the manor and lands of Bradenham and Penne aforesaid. Scotte may fell and carry away timber on the premises. Within five years Wyndesore is to found two chauntries or otherwise provide to find two priests to sing perpetually in the churches of Stanwell and Dorney, and provide houses for them and in each chantry a mass book, chalice and vestments. The priests to sing according to ordinances devised by Scotte and Wyndesore. Each priest to have for his salary during the life of Scotte 9 marks and after his decease the priest that sings in the church of Dorney to have 10 marks and the other 9 marks; one of the priests to sing and begin his service in the church of Dorney on St John the Baptist's day next and to pray for good estates of John Scotte for his life and for the souls of Katherine, his wife, Thomas, his father, and Elizabeth, his mother, wiht the souls of all his ancestors and friends, and for the good estate of Andrew Wyndesore and Elizabeth, his wife, and dame Elizabeth, his mother, and for the souls of Thomas, his father, and other his ancestors and friends; the other priest to begin his service in the church of Stanwell at Michaelmas next, there to pray for the good estate of Andrew Wyndesore and Elizabeth, his wife, and dame Elizabeth, his mother, and for the souls of Thomas, his father, and other ancestors and friends, and for the good estate of John Scotte during his life and the souls of Katherine, his wife, Thomas, his father, and Elizabeth, his mother, and other his ancestors and friends. And both priests after the decease of all those named who are now living shall pray for their souls in both churches. Wyndesore to pay to Scotte at Pentecost next £26 13s 4d and at St Peter ad Vincula £13 6s 8d, and shall make a deed of annuity of 40s for Scotte. The priest appointed to serve at Dorney to sing and do his service wherever is shall please John Scotte, the priest at Stanwell wherever is shall please Andrew Wyndesore.
Seal, round, 36mm, red wax, on plaited pink and gold silk cords. A shield of arms, couched; a saltire between twelve crosses crosslet. Surmounted by a helmet, with crest a stag's head, and supported by two standing unicorns.

Counterseal, rectangular, 11 x 8mm, a stag's head.
The initial T richly painted; within a border of gold leaf, a shield of arms, quarterly of six, the first quarter Windsor, supported by two unicorns. The letter edged by a border richly painted in gold, red, green, blue, roses, pansies and strawberries, with two stag's heads inset.
