Counterpart of lease, by the Provost and College, to Thomas Batcheldor, upon surrender of the foregoing, and in consideration of his expense in rebuilding the messuage, of Black Potts (as before) and all that rod eyott, late in the occupation of John Newman, containing 1 acre, and the Wharf Eyott, and the fishery and waters from a place called Burton's Mount at the top of a meadow called the College Eyott and extending down stream to the eyott of the Earl of Harewood, together with all fishing in the ponds, ditches and waters of the lessors in the Playing Fields of the College, together with a small cottage built by the lessee on the Wharf Meadow, the remainder of the said meadow having been added to the Playing Fields, and a close of meadow or pasture called Ware Close in Upton-cum-Chalvey, formerly belonging to John Pocock and sold by him to the College and now in the occupation of the lessee containing 4 acres 1 rood 14 perches, including the hedges and ditches and a small portion near the river cultivated as an ozier bed; formerly called Boat House Meadow and Oziers, the said close and ozier bed bounded on the north by a lane leading from Eton to Datchet called Weir lane, on the east by a meadow belonging to the Earl of Harewood in the occupation of William and James Jennings, on the south partly by an eyot or ozier bed belonging to Black Potts Fishery and partly by the Weir or Buck river formely called Bullocks Lock Weir and Fishery and now Black Potts Fishery and on the west by the cottage aforementioned. From old Lady day last for 21 years. Rent £19 6s 8d and 13s 4d.
