Indenture, of receipt by the Provost from James Palden, mason, of divers sums of money in part payment of £40 for which Palden is bound to him by a bond, to wit, on the above date, for the price of the carriage of 17½ tons of Huddelston Stone Cawode to London at 5s 8d a ton, £3 19s 2d; (added later) item on 24 December 1459 for 24 tons of Hudlesdon stone bought by him at 12d a ton, 24s; and on 8 August 1460 for 142 tons of the said stone at 12d a ton, £7 2s.
