Grant to William, bishop of Salisbury, William, earl of Suffolk, Thomas Bekynton, the King's clerk and secretary, John Carpenter, clerk, Henry Sever, Provost of Eton College, and John Hampton, esquire of the body, of 3000 marks granted to the King as a subsidy by the commonalty of the county of Chester, to be paid by instalments of 500 marks at midsummer and Martinmas, and of the fine or fines due to the King by Katharine, duchess of Norfolk, the elder, and Thomas Strangways, esquire, for their marriage without the King's licence. Westminster by the King.
