Royal Patents: Indenture concerning benefaction to King's College Cambridge

Indenture between Walter Felde, clerk, provost, and the scholars of the Royal College of St Mary and St Nicholas of Cambridge [King's College], of the one part, John, bishop of Lincoln, of the second part, and Henry Booste [Bost], provost, and the Royal College of St Mary of Eton near Windsor, of the third part, providing for the carrying out of a benefaction to the said college at Cambridge viz 160 marks given by John Plente, late fellow, to buy lands producing 8 marks yearly, the provost to appoint yearly after the election of vice-provost and other officials, a priest from among the fellows to say mass daily, with the collect "Deus cuius misericordie non est numerus suscipe pro anima famuli tui sacerdotis preces nostras" etc for John Plente, his parents etc, and to receive 4 marks yearly: in default the said college to pay 4 marks to the Bishop and 4 marks to the said provost and college of Eton, the provost and college of Eton having the right to distrain for it on the manor or priory of Ruysslepp [Ruislip], co.
