Royal Patents: Release of rents by Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester

Recites that on 14 July 1439 the King granted him 2000 marks yearly for life to be drawn from Michaelmas 1439 from estates including the following: 100s from Abbot of Reading for lands and tenements in Estenrich, Berkshire; £7 6s 8d from the manors of the priory of Cottesford in Oxford and Lincoln [sic: the scribe appears to have conflated two entries]; 33s 4d from a mill at Goring, Oxfordshire; £18 13s 4d from the priory of Blakenham, Suffolk; £18 from the priory of Preston, Sussex; £16 13s 4d from the manor of Hoo, Sussex; £19 from the manor of Tooting Bec Surrey; £16 from the priory of Lessingham, Norfolk; £30 from Creeting and Everdon, Suffolk and Northampton; £18 from the alien priory of Sporle, Norfolk; 40s from the alien priory of Tickford near Newport Pagnell, Bedfordshire; £4 from the old apport from the alien priory of Folkestone; £8 13s 4d from the alien priory of Minster Lovell; 100s from the manors of the alien abbey of Lucerne; £8 6s 8d from manors in Wiltshire belonging to the deanery of Morteyn; £31 6s 8d from the church of Sturminster Marshall, Dorset and tenements in Charlton, Dorset, which belonged to the house of St Giles, Pont-Audemer; £20 from the priory of Docking, Norfolk; £22 from the manor of Charlton, Wiltshire; £25 from the alien priory of Stogursey, Somerset and Dorset; £7 from the Priory of St Helen's, Isle of Wight; £7 18s 5d from Southwick, Hampshire from the farm of Colemore; £40 from the priory of Toft, Norfolk. By licence of the King, releases the above income to the Provost and College of Eton.
