Goldcliff and Coldrey, Monmouthshire: Indenture

Indenture, between Alfred, bishop of Llandaff, of the first part, the Provost and College of Eton, of the second part, the Rev. Thomas Pope, incumbent of the parish of Christ Church, co. Monmouth, of the third part, and the said Provost and College of the fourth part, by which the parties agree that, by virtue of the provisions of the Acts 8 and 9 Vic. section 23 and 11 and 12 Vic. the patronage of or right of nomination to the new church at Maindee in the said parish, shortly to be consecrated by the name of St John the Evangelist, shall belong to the Provost and College.

Witnesses: Augusta Ollivant, spinster, Raymond Terrace, Cheltenham, Thomas M Llewellin, solicitor, Newport, Monmouth, and Oliver Davies, his clerk.
