Content description
Francis Oakley, junior, Dorchester, to Rev William Roberts, enclosing a copy of a letter from Nathaniel Barton, Warminster, 1 September, in which the latter claims for his client the Rev Mr Moody a manor in Hanging Langford. Any difference between his and the College should be settled before any allotment. Oakley contends that the College alone is lord of the manor and Mr Moody is only a freeholder within the manor and lessee of the demesne lands.
