Item
Date
18 May 1832
Extent & medium
2 folios
Content description
Thomas Clarke, 2 Upper Bedford Place, to Rev George Bethell, concerning the fine demanded. In 1804 the fine "was only £2400 and was taken at one year and 5/8 upon Mr Driver's valuation. Everybody knows that Mr Driver was a very high valuer and did a great deal of mischief by setting lands too high, and Mr Trumper who valued this property in 1814 was still worse and injured landlords as well as tenants by his monstrous valuations".
