Eton, Buckinghamshire: Creation of Master of Arts
Item
14 March 1730
1 manuscript
Creation by William, Archbishop of Canterbury, of Stephen Sleech, clerk, Fellow of King's College, Cambrdige, a Master of Arts. The required oath is recited.
Signed by G Paul, registrar, and noted as registered by John Streake, His Majesty's clerk for Faculties in Chancery.
The seal for faculties, papered, on red silk threads, the top half broken away.
This seal appears to be a copy of the seal for Faculties used by Cranmer (B.M. 1330) or perhaps, as B.M. 1337, the same retouched by an engraver. The inscription, both observe and reverse, belongs to the Cranmer Seal.
