Content description
A roll of two paper sheets, the first one backed with parchment, the second much torn, containing copies, not far removed in date from the originals, of Letters Patent:
1) Grant to the College of the reversion of two parts of the Crane and the Wharve and lands and tenements in the Ward of Vintry in the city of London, which Derike Pile holds for life by Letters Patent of 18 June 1440 and of the third part of the same which Jaquetta of Lucenburgh, widow of John, Duke of Bedford, holds in dower for her life.
Westminster 9 April 1446.
By the King.
[Original of this patent has bot been found at Eton. The bill authorising its issue, signed by the King "R H", is to be found among chancery warrants, public record office, c. 81/1439/6].
2) Licence to the inhabitants of the parish of Eton to grant lands, etc. in mortmain to the College. 24 June 1446.
3) Grant to the College of the hospital of St Barholomew by Rye, co. Sussex. 2 September 1446.
None of these grants is enrolled on the Patent Rolls.
