Content description
Contemporary copy of part of an Act to annex to the Crown certain religious houses and monasteries and to reform certain abuses in chantries. (Roll 10 papers leaves sewn together at head). One of 40 acts confirmed in Elizabeth I's first parliament, presumably 1 Edward VI c.14. Only the section relaing to the abolition of chantries excepting any payments made for the maintenance of a grammar school, teaching by a priest, scholars and the relief of the poor has been copied.
