Content description
An estimate of the yearly value of lands and estate in Middleton Brimfield belonging to Eton College and leased to Mrs Mary Bailey. The value is £116 1s 6d. [The fine for renewal of lease is then calcluated].
Also valuatino of the tithes of the several lands in Elcombe £7 15s 0d.
A note that "the College lands in Middleton Brimfield lie so intermixed with Mrs Bailey's estate that I think it absolutely necessary to have them survey'd and plan'd; otherwise I foresee disputes in time will arise that may be difficult to settle and end to the disadvantage of the College. There are disputes already about the Home Close (laid open to lands of Mrs Bailey's) which I took great pains to settle but could not do it satisfactorily. Upon this inclosure about 24 elm trees, worth 20s a tree, may be taken down."
Endorsed by Betham "Mr Palmer's valuation". 1776.
