Land Tax 1774.
A paper covered book consisting of:
1) A printed sheet, pasted to the cover, containing the instructions of the collectors. Signed, with papered seals, by the Commissioners. The names of Bryan Harding and William Henry Cuttler have been filled in, as the collectors.
2) There follows four folios, the first three containing the individual assessments for the parish of Eton. The total assessment, at three shillings in the pound, amounts to £225 16s 3d.
The last folio contains the signatures of the collectors and of the Commissioners, viz. John [? Blair], [? J[ Grosvenor, Christopher Tower.
Three seals, the same impression, oval, 20 x 17mm, red wax, applied. A bearded head in profile.
