Content description
Bridgman and Savage, Grocers Hall, to Edward Tew, esquire. The fine and fees paid for the renewal of the late James Russell's lease of 23 May 1792 were advanced to him by Mr John Johnson, stockbroker, of Popes Head Alley Cornhill, under an agreement of 16 March 1792 a copy of which is enclosed. Mr Russell was never able to surrender the lease to Mrs Marshall which was in the hands of a mortgagee, and the College has not parted with the renewed lease. On behalf of Mr Johnson they are asked not to do so as he has a claim thereon.
