Content description
John Lesingham, Kensington, to Mr Hansell, his agent, stating that there appears to be an error of about £100 in the demand of the College of £348 8s 5 3/4d for his fine for renewal. He understands that it is the practice of the College to calculate the fine as one year and a quarter’s rent, from which the annual rent paid to the College is deducted. His exact rental, as sent by Hansell to the College is £245 2s. Deduct £39 for the annual rent he pays, which leaves £206 2s. Add to this one quarter’s rent i.e. £51 10s 6d. This makes £257 12s 6d.
