Counterpart of lease, 10 February 1616-17, by the Provost and College to Margaret Goddard, daughter of James Goddard, deceased, late of Maydenhead, and Richard North, of Arberfeild, co. Berks, glover, upon surrender of a lease to Thomas Sheeres, deceased, of a tenement with a little barn and a garden appertaining now in the occupation of the said James, in Maidenhead, and an acre of arable lying in two pieces in the field called the North Towne filde in Cookeham, of which half an acre lies between the lands of Christopher Babham, gentleman, on the north and the lands of Lord Norreis, now in the tenure of [ ] Mattinglie on the south, and the other half between the lands of William Brice on the north and the lands of [ ] Lenthall on the south. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent 8s 10¾d and 1½ bushels of wheat and 5 bushels ½ peck of malt, or their money equivalent.
