Counterpart of lease, by the Provost and College to Anne Saunders, of Penn, widow, upon surrender of her former lease, of their "springe or coppis" lying next to his dwelling house in Penn, containing 5 acres, and another "springe or coppis" lying next the church adjoining the field called Hill Mott field, containing 3 acres and all woods and underwoods growing thereupon, except 230 trees now marked and sealed, which are reserved to the lessors, to wit 150 trees in the greater "springe or coppis" and 80 trees in the lesser, with free ingress, egress and regress to cut and carry away the said trees, and except all young saplings of oak, ash, elm, and beech upon the premises as shall not exceed 10 inches in bigness, to be measured 1½ feet above the stem. Except one platt or parcel of arable land adjoinging the coppice, containing 1 acre, sometime since grubbed and belonging to the farm called Aldiffs.Rent 40s. From old Michaelmas last for 20 years.
