Lyminster, Sussex: Composition in a dispute
Item
[1222 - 1224]
Composition made in the church of Chichester before the Bishop's official, in a dispute between John, rector of Climpinges, and sir Savary de Bohun, by which Sir Savary grants that all corn on his holding there shall be tythed by hulas, (a measure of corn) and the servants of the rector may take his tythes as soon as the corn is carried. And he grants to the church of Climpinges all the land which Jordan Carias held there [1222-1224] in frankalmoign. To be held in the name of the tythe of all his marsh.
