Content description
Eustace, perpetual vicar of the church of Lenemenstr', in the diocese of Chichester, to the lord Robert, bishop of Chichester, certifying that he has inducted Georgia le Clouestier, a nun of the monastery of Almeneschiis, to the keepership of the priory of Lenemenstr' vacant by the death of lady Katherine Lille, the last prioress. The mandate of the bishop, dated at his manor of Durynggewykes 20 June 1401, to put the said Georgia in corporal possession of the same, and induct her, is recited.

Seal of John Gyles, clerk, commissary of the bishop, used because that of the vicar is unkown to many. Pointed oval, 50 x 30mm, reddish brown wax, on tongue. The bishop seated, left hand holding staff, right hand raised in benediction, beneath a gothic canopy.
