In 1861 the reformed Statutes at King's substituted for the original total of 70 scholars and fellows 46 Fellows, 24 Eton scholars and 24 open scholars. Further reforms in 1882 opened the Eton scholarships to Oppidans as well as Collegers. From 1870 the examination was held at Cambridge. The records here relate to both old and new systems.
