Goldcliff, Coldra, Nash and Christchurch, Monmouthshire: Letter from Bold to Roberts
Item
10 December 1807

Brecon.
Bold to Roberts: he has not yet received Mr Davies's valuation; sends a copy of a letter from James Hodges (Deptford, 23 November 1807) concerning fresh damage to the sea walls which means work cannot be completed by Candlemas1808. Hodges claims to have been a great sufferer by the sea walls, and if anyone is given any advantage in a new lease, it should be he. Davies thinks the present repairs to the sea walls are not workmanlike and recommends that Hodges should be told to stop work and that one or two competent people should be asked to say what sum is needed for the College to put the walls in sufficient repair. He also denies that Hodges is a loser by the bargain for the timber.
