Bold to Roberts: he has discussed the peremptory order from the Commissioners with Mr Prothero who himself dictated the letter. Notice of the meeting appeared in a Gloucester paper, never seen by Bold or, presumably, by Roberts. Prothero conceded that nothing would be done to enforce the order until next meeting of the Commissioners. He proposes to see Mr Jones at Usk and will communicate further.
