Letter from Lord Quickswood to Provost Elliott

Thinks it would be rash to raise fees indefinitely because 'the very rich are not always the best material to make into Old Etonians'. Comments on the new Chapel windows [John Piper windows]: 'they are sure to be very much abused. But, in truth, they could not be uglier than those that were there already'. No danger of the numbers at Eton falling; he always thought them too high. His sight no longer allows him to read or write.
