Written in a Mathematics notebook. Contains a (fictional) diary and '5 1/2 Original Essays', of which only three are present, titled "On Expenses Generally", "On Masters Individually" and "On Pets domestically". All are illustrated with lively pen and ink or pencil drawings. Pages have been torn out and the front and back boards have pencil sketches, mainly of animals. The name T[homas] B[utler] Stoney is signed three times; he was at Mr Everard's 1888-1892
