Richards was at Eton from 1878.3 - 1883.2. He was in the XI 1881 - 1883 and Keeper of Rackets 1882 - 1883, winning the Public Schools Rackets in 1882. He was also a member of Pop. After Jesus College, Cambridge he became a soldier and a Captain in the Hants. Regt. He served in Burma and South Africa before retiring in 1904.
