Content description
Eton-Harrow cricket match at Lord's. Hopes silence means it is still undecided whether Eton can play Harrow at Lord's. If the objection is to the XI staying in London, suggests playing a one day match on the day Eton breaks up, starting at 9.30 and going on until dark, even if this means an unfinished match.
Reversed is a draft letter to an unknown correspondent refusing to release Wisden for all county matches in June and July as he is engaged at Harrow `at great expense to the school'. Cannot be released for the return matches unless Sussex provides a substitute. 2 June 1856
