Addressed to "Monsieur le Doctr Brown A Berlin". His travels through Holland, Germany and Switzerland since he left England. Taking of Spyre [Speyer] by the French, and Frankfurt threatened. Porter and pickles sent to Brown by order of the countess. Political situation in France, says country is "going headlong to ruin". Written from Lausanne.
