Fanny Keate: Letter from F. [Fanny] Chapman
Item
23 March 1852
Addrees unclear. Possibly N. Eliya [Ceylon] Thanks mother profusely for looking after the Children who have been ill and recovering from chicken pox. Shocked by Mr Hutton's death. Fear that England was invaded with all the vessels stopped in the Mediterranean. The boat, Haddington appeared 3 weeks later than expected with news, mail and children on board. Travelling back to Kandy. Staying with the Governor and Lady Anderson. Glad that Charlie has learnt to knit as a quiet occupation.
