Margaretta Brown: Letter from J. Keate
Item
18 August 1809
From Launceston. How will Margaretta and Father despise his 'jerry sneakism' as the 'imperious Frau' forbade him from telling them of Fanny's illness. Lovely description of Mr Vincent treated her cautiously because she was Dr Brown's daughter.
'One word in your letter of the Battle of Salamanca, and of your adored Sir Arthur, I hope a portent of peerage is making out for him at this time - with what fearful odds against him, did he fight, and how gloriously!'
After these affairs Fanny used to take an infusion, asks her to ask Papa if it is unnecessary now.
Addressed to Miss Brown
