Margaretta Brown: Letter From Gardner
Item
24 August 1840
Addressed to 'Miss Brown, Hartley Wespall, near Hartford Bridge, Hants.'
He saw Mr Godwin with Mr Dawson and gave instructions for a new lease with the tenant to pay in lieu of a tithe. A copy is to be sent to him for inspection before it is enforced and he can forward it to Miss Brown if she wishes.
Mr Dawson has given him another bill for the shed which he ommitted before. He strongly objected to paying the whole of this charge and has arranged for a lower price. He has decided that no more gravel should be paid for.
He called on Mr Goldpress who has done what was wanted at the Old Farm but at little expense. Opinions on shed, garden and brick making.
