Letter describing the activities of his Eton friends, including Douro, Wellesley, Vansittart and Walpole. He is disappointed he is going to Oxford while the others will be at Cambridge. Walpole was at ball with him "as usual philosophized instead of dancing"; Wellesley has been "corrupting his mind with the memoires of Harriett Wilson"; Ricardo "understands more about horses than poetry". Reminisces about their evening walks in the Cloisters.
