Charles FitzHerbert Bill (1872-1955) was at Eton from 1886 to 1891 in the house of R.A.H. Mitchell. He was the eldest son of Charles Bill, MP, of Farley Hall, Cheadle, Staffordshire, and Ellen Margaret Hepburn. After Eton he went on to New College, Oxford to study natural sciences. He became an Electrical Engineer, and served with the 4th Bn. N. Staffs Regt in the South African War. He married Alice Violet Toller in 1909 in Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales.
