Wilberforce, Rev Albert Basil Orme Wilberforce (1841-1916)
Albert Basil Orme Wilberforce (1841-1916) was a British clergyman, author, temperance and anti-vivisection reformer. He was the youngest son of Bishop Samuel Wilberforce (1805-1873), and grandson of William Wilberforce (1759-1833), abolitionist. Educated at Eton (left 1856) and Exeter College, Oxford, he was ordained in 1866 and went on to become Canon of Westminster Abbey 1894-1900, Chaplain to the House of Commons 1896-1915 and Archdeacon of Westminster 1900-1915. He married Caroline Charlotte Jane Netherton-Langford.

Provenance
Sent by Wilberforce to Mrs M Barrett-Lennard between the years 1900 and 1915, they were in her possession until 1927, when she sent them as a gift to Eton College Library on 23 November 1927.
