William Johnson Cory: Additional papers: Letters from HAJ Munro to William Johnson Cory

The letters are all from HAJ Munro, mostly dated 1884. They represent an exchange of letters which took place in response to the publication of ‘Translations into Greek and Latin verse’ by Munro. The initial letter was written in response to Cory’s criticisms of the work, and the subsequent twelve letters reflect the continued exchange of opinion on various Greek and Latin translations
In addition, the collection contains is a letter from Ed Stone to ‘Edith’ concerning the letters which Cory gave him; two letters from Cory to Ed Stone concerning his papers and translations; and an incomplete letter from Cory to ‘Meg’.
Also included is a copy of ‘Translations into Latin and Greek verse’, HAJ Munro, Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1884. The edition has been signed by Munro, with an additional note to say the copy was presented ‘to W.G. Headlam, Dec. 4 1884’

The letters were given by Cory to Ed Stone (see letter from Ed Stone to ‘Edith’ dated 22 April 1907)
None
