The file contains programmes for boxing competitions that Thesiger took part in, first at Eton College, and subsequently at Oxford. A number of the programmes also feature his brother Brian, who would often fight in the same competitions at Eton, but in a different weight class.
Some of the programmes have autograph annotations or markings. In addition, there are three dinner menus for the Cambridge University Boxing and Fencing Club annual Oxford v. Cambridge Dinner, which Thesiger attended. All of the menus have been signed by Thesiger and others who attended the dinner.
Also included is an envelope of news cuttings concerning the Oxford University Boxing Club’s fights, some of which mention Wilfred and Brian Thesiger.
