The file contains typed letters sent to Thesiger from both Longman, Green and Co. and from Curtis Brown regarding all aspects of the publication of ‘The Marsh Arabs’. The letters from Curtis Brown principally contain comments on the draft manuscripts of the work and the corrected typescript copies which were sent to Thesiger for further amendment. The letters from Longmans concern the publication and publicity of the book.
Arrangement
Unlike the correspondence for ‘Arabian Sands’ the letters from the two companies were interfiled in chronological order and this arrangement has been maintained.
