Written by Thesiger while in was in India in 1979, the final published version was a large format book, illustrated by his photographs, describing his journey’s to Abyssinia, Danakil country, the Empty Quarter, Persia, the Marshes and Yemen. These files contain the original manuscripts and typescripts for the text as well as copies of the photographs included in the work.
