Content description
Fifteen assorted pages from different parts of 'Books Do Furnish a Room'. Often the typescripts are from different early versions of the novel. All fifteen pages are on the verso of an article entitled 'Proust as a Soldier' (25 p.), published in 1971. Also on the verso of one of the leaves is a page showing Powell planning characters for 'The Military Philosophers'. All leaves have heavy ms. corrections on both rectos and versos.
