Content description
Anthony Powell's original autograph writer's notebook, kept from 1930 to 1999, in which he jotted down "names, situations and quotations" which took his fancy. It is bound in brown cloth. A typescript version of the notebook was prepared towards the end of Powell's life - there are two versions of this typescript corrected by Powell in this file, one with related correspondence from Lady Violet Powell. Also included is a newspaper cutting about the publication of the notebook.
Provenance
Housed in two half navy morocco over cloth boxes.
Arrangement
The original notebook is in an individual box while the later typescript material is in another box.
