Content description
A complete set of typescript drafts, proofs and final version of Anthony Powell's memoir about George Orwell, published in The Times and in The Atlantic in October 1967, and in The Atlantic. There is the first early typescript draft, with ms. corrections and a revised draft that has the annotation "this version contains some corrections made after its appearance of the piece in The Times, 14 Oct 67". The galley proofs also have ms. corrections and the final printed versions also included. A typed letter signed from Powell to "Jake" that accompanied the draft article is also included.
