Autograph letter signed from Hans Schmoller to Ernestine Carter, dated 5 May 1978. Schmoller is writing to ask for a copy of an article John Carter wrote for The Bookseller in which he told the story of how, on Scribners' behalf, he took the Shuckburgh copy of the Gutenberg Bible to America by plane. The copy of the article that Ernestine sent in response is included with the letter.
