o It contains photographs taken at various key points in the war including: during the preparations for the Battle of El-Alamein, and during the battle (October 1942); the army’s entry into Tripoli (January 1943); the Battle of Mareth (March 1943); Field Marshal Messe’s surrender to the 8th Army; the invasion of the mainland of Italy (September 1943); and the Battle of Termoli (October 1943)
o It also includes various photographs of Montgomery’s meetings with a number of notable individuals, including Winston Churchill; King George VI; and General Eisenhower as well as images which show the destruction of war.
