Eight autograph letters to Brigadier General W.G.H. Thompson, father of Bridget Busk, from friend Philip Wheatley. Addressed to ‘My dear Tommy’, the letters describe in detail his experiences in the Second Boer War.
The letters are held together with a pin.
Also included in the file are typed letters and press cuttings relating to the return of a South African Government flag of the Orange Free State, taken by Lord Roberts during the Boer War in June 1900. The return was arranged by W.G.M Thompson and physically taken back to South Africa by his daughter Lady Busk.
