Noel Blakiston papers: Photographs relating to Cyril Connolly
Sub-series
Noel Blakiston, author and archivist. He was a King's Scholar at Eton, where he met Cyril Connolly (1903-1974), author and literary reviewer. Their friendship flourished in the 1920s and continued throughout their lives. In 1975, Blakiston published A Romantic Friendship: the Letters of Cyril Connolly to Noel Blakiston.

Seventeen photographs, eight of them forming part of a group, one of these identified as 'Cyril Connolly and Bill Farrer (friend of Sligger [Francis Fortescue Urquhart]) on Dordogne trip, Summer 1923'. One photograph is of a group of men and a woman identified only as 'Kirkby', and another is of 'P. Wilson, 11 yrs'. A photograph of the Pont Valentré is accompanied by Bernard Berenson's business card with an autograph introduction to senatore Assi. The remaining photographs are exterior images of churches in Italy and a view of Aigues Mortes in France.
