E. W. Hermon archive: Letters of E. W. Hermon from the Western Front (WW1)
Series
E. W. Hermon wrote to his wife, Ethel Hermon almost every day from the Western Front, where he was stationed from April 1915. The bulk of the letters are from this period (ending a couple of days before his death on 9th April, 1917), with some pre-dating this (1914) from British training camps. Locations are not disclosed in the letters, but can be got from the published letters, ed. Anne Nason, "For love and courage", London : Preface Publishing, 2008. Most letters are with their original envelopes.
