Containing seven letters written from the prison of war camp Stalag Luft 3 in Silesia, where Williams was being held between December 1942 and 1943 and one letter from Stockholm dated 17th November, written after Williams’s escape from Germany.
The file includes a letter written soon after he was captured and taken to the prisoner of war camp, while the subsequent letters thank his mother-in-law for the books she sent and comments on prison life, including a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the prisoners are putting on.
