Including notes, jottings, plans other research papers including letters, drawings, maps and photographs; a corrected manuscript, dated November 1979, and including a printed letter to all Allied troops in Italy from General Alexander, dated May 1944; and a corrected typescript, with some manuscript pages
Also included are various published versions of the novel including UK edition (London: Hamish Hamilton, 1981), two copies, one handback with dust-jacket and autograph dedication on the title page; and large print UK edition (London: Magna Print Books, 1983)
