First Caslon is based in Egypt, later being moved to Palastine. He receives a promotion to Aide-de-Camp of General Shea and so takes part in the advance and taking of Jerusalem. His brother Eric is now old enough to join the war and after a short service on the Western Front, Chris arranges Eric to join him in the Middle East.

Typed copies, with some ms., letters by Chris Caslon, interspersed with his own amature photographs, as well as some official photographs.
These letters contain good description of WWI desert warefare and a first hand account of the advance on, and fall of, Jerusalem.
